First Time

Our lives are filled with memorable "first-times" --- first kiss, first love, first sex, first heart-break, first job, first marriage, first child, first divorce, first gray hair... "Firsts" are milestones in our lives that remind us of our unique human condition and help identify who we are as people. While "firsts" should be celebrated and reminisced, one should never get too attached to their "firsts." Life is about the journey...first, seconds, thirds, fourths, etc. Every time is special, every time is what makes you YOU.

This reminds me of the personalized version of the Hannah Montana song "You Could Be the One" that I started singing to my girls - "You Could Be the One, You Could Be the Two, You Could Be the Three, Four, Five and Sixth..." Now we all sing it that way. I'm not trying to teach my girls to be cynical or not believe in "true love", but am trying to help them see that life will be full of "ones." Whether first, second or third, they're all important to you and significant in your life's journey.

So, back to "first-times", this is my first time writing a blog. I've been pondering for some time now whether I should take on this technological advance. Do I have anything important to say? Does anyone really care?? I decided that the answers are YES! But, more importantly, I have come to discover that I CARE about what I have to say, and maybe, just maybe, some of the things I have to say will strike a chord with you too? I hope so.

Wecome to kando my friends! Please enjoy this "first", but please don't forget to check back so you can enjoy the "seconds" and "thirds" too...

:) Kim
